A remarkable story out of China, recently, a stray dog completed a 1,100-mile trek across China, climbing 12 mountains in 25 days. The dog, nicknamed “Xiaosa,” or Little Sa met a group of cyclists as they were beginning their 1,100-mile cross country cycling journey. When one of the riders threw the hungry dog a chicken wing, Xiaosa ate the wing, but then to the groups surprise, she began to follow them. She never left their side. For 25 days, Xiaosa stayed with the group, running 40 miles a day and climbing 12 mountains in the process. Even after cyclist after cyclist dropped out due to exhaustion, Xiaosa stayed. By the end of the journey, she had run 1,000 miles and was one of only 4 to finish the cross country trek from China’s Sichuan province to Tibet. Her story, told on one of the cyclist’s blog, had 4,000 fans by the end of the race. Xiaosa’s story continues to be a happy one, after she completed her journey last week, she was given a clean bill of health and was adopted by Xiao Yong, one of the cyclists.
